Learning at Fox River Academy

 

What is the Fox River Academy?

The Fox River Academy is a public environmental charter school serving grades K-8 with a focus on the Fox River Watershed. Core subject areas are taught through an integrated curriculum in multiage classrooms.  As part of the Appleton Area School District, FOX is a public school and does not charge tuition.  Educational opportunities are funded by the AASD, grants and donations from public and private sources.

Where is the Fox River Academy?

The Fox River Academy is located within Jefferson Elementary School at 1000 S. Mason Street, Appleton, WI 54914 and in the adjacent Green Teaching Building, a former Appleton Park and Recreation office,  located between Jefferson Elementary School and Pierce Park. 

 

More About Fox River Academy Learning:

The Fox River Academy accepts applications for students entering grades K-8. Fox River Academy's elementary students' classrooms are co-located within Jefferson Elementary School and the adjacent Green Teaching Building. 

Students attend school in the classroom as well as the outdoors at a variety of venues.  Outdoor field experiences are integrated into the curriculum.

Students are also involved with all-school activities such as Sports, Band, Orchestra, Scouts, 4-H as well as many other school clubs and programs offered within Jefferson Elementary School.
